Another important component is the cardboard to prepare the passe-partout and the back cardboard. This material is in direct contact with the work of art. This acid free range for the passe-partout is the most popular. This is available in the following colors: white, ivory and some traditional colors. For the back cardboard, we use the one called “barrier cardboard”. This piece is the one in between the work of art and the closer cardboard. Thanks to a small tester we can check the ph of the cardboard to use for the assembly of the work of art. If repairs are needed, we verify the grade of conservation for the original framing, and we can then decide, with the customer, the appropriate work to do.
