 I PASSEPARTOUS

Frequently a work of art looks like it is “Choking” in a frame. In this case we give some room to the object using a framed passe-partout. The choice of a passe-partout is very important for the final result of the frame. It is necessary to maximize the realization, from the color to the decoration. In our shop we prepare exclusively the passe-partout called “a smusso” to round off.

This means, that the windows cardboard with an oblique blade is showing the thickness and to give more deepness to the piece framed. We keep a lot of different colors to create sophisticate work, frame and ambience to link together the design to show at home. Also the passe-partout can be modified in different ways. For example, to create a colored edging superimposing two different cardboards, or using gold material, to show depth and the round off to emphasize the framed subject. Another type of decoration is to water-color the passe-partout. To use this method we use a sponge with water-color or wash drawing with more water than usual. For this method the result is delicate and shows a more marble effect.

The more refined and classic decoration is to create a colored frame in pastel colors around the window of the passe-partout; we can enjoy using different types of decorations to combine a few colors. We can assemble oval or round cardboard passe-partous.

We can also create different designs to better create a better effect with a combination of oval, round, square or rectangular shape. When the work of art is an oil paint to frame and the customer does not like the idea of glass, we use a wood passe-partout for the frame. We use a cemented material colored in many ways or with a cloth material, otherwise the cardboard passe-partout will ruin easily.
