RESTORATION

 

 

  The restoration of a work of art is a very delicate process that do not always coincide to fix aesthetically one article, therefore, two categories of restoration are available, conservative and aesthetically.

  The first kind is used to consolidate and to preserve the work of art without any aesthetic work, because we only want to ad an original touch.

   For this reason we like to touch only the parts that really need to be fixed. For example, if part of the gold materials are peeling off or we need an anti anti wood-warm treatment etc.

  The second type of restoration includes the previous method of all the operations used to improve aesthetically the restoration of the work of art. A FEW EXAMPLES: Stuccowork, rebuilding of a missing part, gold patch. Of course this method must be used with total respect of the work of art, so as not to alter what is left over from the original piece.

  To intervene correctly on a work of art we need to know all the techniques and materials used from the original piece. In our shop we like to use more and more vanguard materials from cleaning and to consolidating the work of art, to maintain a traditional finish of all of the above.
